The department of Pediatrics and Neonatology at University Hospital Sharjah (UHS) offers comprehensive pediatric inpatient and outpatient services for children from newborns to young adults. Our experts – pediatricians and pediatric nurses- offer the most current and evidence – based treatment for your child. They are dedicated to making your child's hospitalization safe & comfortable, as well as keep you fully involved in the care process.   Pediatric Primary Care: Our goal is to provide quality, comprehensive & compassionate care & treatment that meets your child's good health needs from birth through adolescence. The unit offers a range of services from well-child care, childhood vaccination and common illness, complex medical conditions & chronic disorders, as well as acute critical conditions. From regular visit of treatment, to specialist referral tat UHS, you can trust our highly expreinced pediatricians, nurses and allied health care professionals to manage your child's healthcare needs in the best possible manner with a family centered approach.  The centre is freshly decorated to provide a comfortable, specious and stress free ambience for child.   Pediatric Unit: This 20 beds unite is caring for: General Health, Growth & Development & Pediatric assessment. Acute Pediatric & Critical care. Childhood diabetes & Endocrinology clinic. Comprehensive, Vision, Audiology & Hearing test. Pediatric surgery including: minimally invasive surgery & neurosurgery. Specialized nutrition and feeding management. Allied Health Services.  Pediatric Emergency unit: Pediatric emergency services are available round the clock by dedicated pediatric specialists & nursing staff to cater all emergency conditions and trauma situations in children up to 16 years. A well-equipped resuscitation area and a designated team are available 24 hours for life threatening emergencies. Level III Neonatology Intensive Care Unit (NICU): Having a baby is both an exciting and challenging experience & you always want your baby's health in the best hands. At University Hospital, Sharjah we specialized in treatment of all kinds of congenital & acquired conditions. These tiny infants have the best chance to survive & grow to reach their maximum potential. The NICU at UHS is a level III unit, with highest level of care for diagnosis, surgery, & rehabilitation. We regularly manage successfully preterm infants born as early as 23 weeks of pregnancy & weighing less than 450 grams. As expected these fragile infants need complex treatment for multi system problems including surgries are all managed by our specialists.  Equipped with the modern facilities & & experienced healthcare professionals that can manage these complex & high risk neonatal conditions.
