Where Dr. Sahir Arour, a consultant vascular surgeon at the University Hospital in Sharjah, said: “The emergency department at the University Hospital in Sharjah received an eighty-year-old male patient who was suffering from urinary bleeding as a result of stones. Upon examination, it was found that the patient was experiencing severe pains in the abdominal region. The aortic pulse was obvious. The patient was transferred to the Diagnostic Radiology Department and examined by ultrasound as well as a CT scan without giving dye injections as the patient was having kidney failure which contraindicate this diagnostic injection,” noting that the medical treating team succeeded in determining the dimensions of swelling in the wall of the artery as a result of weakness and calcification of its tissues. The dimensions ranged between 60 to 70 mm.
